Travel Must Haves

All my travel must haves that will make any journey a breeze. See what I packed for my trip to Florida!

Is it just me, or have you forgotten how to travel these days? When we packed for our family trip to Florida, I had to be even more organised than usual because we now have a baby, and babies make travel oh so much trickier! Mr. Matt is a master packer. In his words, the key is to β€˜not bring too much s***’! But even so, I think I did a pretty good job too. Here are the travel must haves that I could not go on vacation without. And be sure to check out my baby travel essentials post too! πŸ˜‰

Packing cubes

These packing cubes are a lifesaver for keeping your suitcase organised! They come in different sizes and have a mesh side so that you can easily see what’s inside. It saves having all your small items from rolling around together and getting mixed up. I like to have one for my bras, underwear, socks, swimsuit and nipple pads (the glamorous life of a mom, huh?) I then use another couple of packing cubes for keeping my clothes organised.

Clothes

When it comes to packing clothes for a trip, try to think of a β€˜capsule wardrobe’ style. Which basic pieces can you bring that will easily pair with multiple other items of clothing without having to bring a ton of options? Think jeans, basic tees, sweatshirts. Things you can layer are always a good idea, so that you’re prepared no matter the weather! You can pack a few fancier outfits for nights out, but a simple capsule wardrobe will save so much space in your luggage. Don’t forget to pack a good sun hat!

Waterproof bag for toiletries

I always pack my toiletries in a waterproof bag so that if there are any spillages or leaks it doesn’t get all over the rest of the stuff in my suitcase. You could also use these silicone storage bags to keep everything watertight. Here’s what I like to pack in my toiletries bag:

  • Luminance Travel Set (Use code Nikole15 for 15% off) – You guys know how much I love Luminance. These are completely natural and I use their cleanser, rosewater toner, moisturiser and eye cream like it’s going out of style.
  • Natural Deodorant – No one wants stinky pits! I like to pack a sample pot of my Pit Refresh. It’s 100% non-toxic & aluminum-free, and smells amazing.
  • Vitamin C Serum
  • Personal care essentials such as cloth Q Tips, a facial brush, contacts and panti-liners.

Pro tip: Pack samples where possible. I packed little samples of toothpaste and it saved so much space!

Essential oils

I love lavender, stress away, peppermint, tranquil, peace and calming, and valor for travel. I use them as my mini first aid kit on the go for stress, headaches, natural β€œpure-fume”, etc. If you’re interested in learning all about essential oils, sign up for my FREE essential oils 101 email course.

Reusable travel tubes

Technically, these travel tubes belong in my toiletries bag, but I thought they deserved a paragraph all on their own. These tubs are awesome because they’re totally reusable and you can just fill them up with whatever lotions and potions you need. It saves lugging around big bottles of hair products and body wash, and you don’t have to go out and buy those overpriced mini versions.

Makeup case

I love this makeup case because it has so many little compartments and it keeps everything nice and organized. It has a section for your makeup brushes, so the bristles don’t get damaged, and little compartments for everything you could ever need. I always make sure to pack a few tubs of my all natural lip butter – I never want to run out!

Travel acupressure mat

This acupressure mat (use code BON15NIKOLE for 15% off!) is such a travel must have for me. I never go anywhere without it. It helps so much with stress, anxiety, sleep, even headaches! It has little spikes that you lay on and it feels amazing. It’s an instant relaxation tool.

Carry on essentials

Often I’ll just pack a carry on, but because we were going for a longer trip and had all the baby items to check as well, I decided to pack a separate carry on this time. I actually used this diaper bag for my carry on and I added this amazing purse organiser insert to keep everything super organised. Here are the travel must haves I include in my carry on…

  • Water bottle – I always fill this up right before boarding
  • Passport
  • Healthy food to snack on – I chose a quinoa salad, a protein bar, a couple of hard boiled eggs and some granola minis
  • Wallet with drivers license & essential cards
  • Sunglasses (and normal glasses if you’re blind like me!)
  • Eye mask
  • Vitamins
  • Laptop case
  • Individually wrapped tea bags
  • Panti liners
  • Masks
  • Purse organiser
  • Essential oils
  • Travel neck pillow
  • Padlock
  • Gum
  • Kleenex
  • Hair clip
  • Hand cream
  • Baby wipes (not just for Sage but for me too!)
  • Floss
  • Battery pack charger
  • Camera supplies
  • Airpods
  • Mints
  • Hand sanitiser and disinfectant spray

So that’s everything I packed for myself! What are your travel must haves? Let me know in the comments below!Β
