My Simple & Natural Skincare Routine

My simple morning skincare routine for glowing, vibrant and healthy skin!

With everything going on right now we all need a little extra love and self-care, wouldn’t you agree? As you may know, natural skin care is something I am very passionate about. I get a lot of compliments on my glowy skin these days – but it hasn’t always been this way!

 I never thought I would have a healthy relationship with my skin. Or that people would actually ask ME “What’s your secret to glowy skin?” Safe to say it’s been a long and bumpy (pun intended) journey with excessively oily skin, hormonal cystic acne, scarring, the list goes on.⁠

Back in my teenage years – (before the days of HealthNut Nutrition), I actually struggled a lot with my acne. The funny thing is, I actually thought I had healthy skin – but the truth is I was always back and forth between breakouts and clear skin. I was using all the benzoyl peroxide and drying acne products I could get my hands on just to keep my skin happy. I never knew that my skin could actually feel and look healthier – and I didn’t realize how much more confident it would make me feel!

In my mid 20’s I really started to step back and rethink what I was doing to my skin. I started cutting out triggers foods like excess dairy products, processed foods, and refined sugar. At the same time I started using non-toxic skincare products, moisturizing rather than drying out/striping my skin, while being mindful of not over-washing my face. I also made some small lifestyle adjustments to remove stress and add in exercise, meditation, deep breathing, and essential oils.⁠

What I’ve learned over the years is that skin health should be approached in a holistic way. It’s not all about what you put on your skin but also what you put into your body. I’ve come a long way in this journey and I’m still learning, but I hope that my story can help and resonate with some of you guys! ⁠

With all of this in mind, I wanted to share my updated natural skincare routine to hopefully help inspire you to take some time to unwind, relax and care for your skin. It can make such a difference in your mood and your outlook when you take the time for self-care, I can’t recommend it enough! 

Rose Water Toner

If I had to choose one product I could not live without in my skincare routine, it would be this rose water toner. You’ve probably heard me rave about it before… but seriously it’s amazing. It is so hydrating, combats redness, balances the pH of your skin, feels amazing. A few spritzes will leave your face dewy and fresh. This is a must-have for summer! Eye Cream

This eye cream is another one of my favourites that I’ve been using for years. I feel like it has made a big difference in reducing puffiness under my eyes, as well as fine lines and wrinkles. I’m not in my 20’s anymore HealthNuts, so I have to think of these things! 😉 

Facial Serum

Next, I have been loving this bio active peptide facial serum! I really love anything like this that nourishes and hydrates the skin, with 100% natural ingredients. It also absorbs really well and doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy.  

Skin Glow Serum

I don’t do this every day, but I love to use my skin glow oil serum. The DIY recipe for this one is actually included in my free 7 day Essential Oils 101 email course! It contains jojoba oil and some nourishing essential oils that help to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and healthy cell rejuvenation. 

Rose Quartz Face Roller

If I really want to go the extra mile, I use my rose quartz face roller for a facial massage. It helps with lymphatic drainage, puffiness, blood circulation and releasing tension. This is something that you will really notice a difference with if you do it consistently! Also you wouldn’t believe how much tension you hold in your jaw and eyebrows – this roller will help release so much stress and tension you didn’t even know you were holding onto! 

Sunshine Drops + Moisturizer

Next up, I apply these sunshine tanning drops along with my facial moisturizer. This is amazing – it gives you a really nice brozny sun-kissed glow. I just mix the two together, and apply it to my face and neck! I’m all about protecting my skin from the sun, so this is a great way to get that summer glow, sans UV exposure!

CC Cream + SPF

And speaking of sun protection, this CC Cream is my favourite because not only does it contain SPF but it’s also full of natural skin nourishing ingredients, and has a slight tint as well. This has been a well-loved product in my skincare routine for years, I can’t recommend it enough! 

Lip butter

Of course, we can’t forget about the lips! This is my favourite lip butter ever, from BeautyNut Skin Care which is my own personal line of skincare. It contains mango butter and sea buckthorn, as well as blood orange essential oil… and it’s seriously the best ever! It also comes in a jumbo size tube so you will never run out, and you won’t lose it in the depths of your purse either!

Full Body Moisturizer

I like to moisturize all over with this body lotion, and for areas that need extra moisturizing (like my legs!) this organic skin butter is amazing.

 

Natural Deodorant

Natural deodorant that actually works is the hardest thing to find – am I right?! Well I’ve got good news for you!
