5-Minute Falafel Wraps

These 5-Minute Falafel Wraps are smothered in red pepper hummus, topped with peppery arugula, crunchy cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and drizzled in creamy tahini.

This super quick and hearty plant-based wrap will hit the spot come lunch time. Use any tortilla wrap or even pita bread. For this recipe I went with red pepper hummus but you can use your favourite hummus recipe. Next, I added a handful of arugula, because you know I gotta add some greens! Baby spinach would also be amazing in this wrap. After that, feel free to add whatever veggies you have on hand. I chose tomatoes, cucumbers and red onions! But you can also add sliced peppers, shredded carrots and creamy avocado.

To make this recipe super quick and convenient, I used my favourite ready-made veggie falafels from Yves Cuisine. I love having these on hand in the fridge for those busy days, and they’re also great tossed in a salad. I’m going to let you guys in on a little secret. Now, to finish off this tasty falafel wrap! I drizzled tahini on top for an added creaminess. Using ingredients like hummus and tahini is a great way to add a “dressing” to your salad or wrap! Who needs mayo, am I right? Once you’re ready to wrap it up, make sure you close it at both ends! Another tip: wrap it as tight as possible. Then it will stay together if you’re bringing it to school or work! You can place the wrap in a reusable silicone storage bag or wrap it in bees wrap and pack it for lunch.

Recipe

5 Minute Falafel Wraps

Savoury falafel, wrapped in a large tortilla smothered in red pepper hummus, topped with peppery arugula, crunchy cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and drizzled in creamy tahini. 
Prep Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 large tortilla wrap whole wheat, kamut, spelt
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons red pepper hummus
  • ½ cup arugula
  • 2 slices of tomatoes cut in half
  • red onion thinly sliced
  • ¼ english cucumber julienned
  • 4 to 5 premade falafels I used Yves Cuisine Falafels
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 1 teaspoon black sesame seeds

Instructions:

  • Spread the hummus on top of the tortilla wrap. Top with arugula, tomatoes, onions, cucumber and falafels. Drizzle with tahini and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Cut in half and enjoy!
