DIY: How to Make Homemade Natural Laundry Detergent

Here is my DIY natural laundry detergent recipe perfect for HE machines and for sensitive skin. This works great with cold water and will not leave any soapy residue on your clothes. I love this recipe because it’s budget friendly and you can make a huge batch all at once that will last you months!

How To: Homemade Laundry Detergent I love this large glass mason jar, it holds A LOT of laundry detergent. I got the chalkboard label from Michaels (a craft store). Download their app for discounts, I got the labels for 40% off 🙂

Watch my “How To” video for a step by step guide on how to make my DIY natural laundry detergent.

Here’s what you’ll need

-Your favourite essential oil (I used lemon) use 20 drop for every 3-6 cups of laundry detergent depending on how fragrant you want it!
Washing Soda (I used 2Kg)
Baking soda (I used 2Kg)
Soap Flakes (I sued 2 Kg)
1 large glass jar
Large chalkboard label

*Add equal parts of all three washing powders to the jar making sure to mix it up very well.  Add your essential oil and your ready to start washing your clothes!

How To Use:

*Use 1/4 cup per regular load. You can also use an old protein powder scoop which works great to keep in your laundry detergent jar. Make sure to switch your machine from liquid to powder in the dispenser, or else the powder will not properly flow into your machine.
